Classical myths once provided an answer to these questions in the form of symbolic and moral narratives shared by a community. Even though our postmodern and secularised society seems to have relegated the great mythological sagas to the past, humans are still in search for meaning. The exhibition "I Am Your Father!" explores the subject of modern myths - secular avatars of the myths of yore - through the one which can be considered as the most universal of them: [font="arial, sans-serif;"]Star Wars[/font][/font]! [font="helvetica, sans-serif;"]Want to fly to the cosmos? The [font="helvetica, sans-serif;"]Maison d'Ailleurs[/font][/font], in collaboration with the Astronomical Society of Northern Vaud will make you travel through our solar system!
 
This evening will start at 8 pm at [font="helvetica, sans-serif;"]Espace Jules Verne[/font], with a fun and didactic presentation of the principles of astronomical observation followed by a dinner aperitif. Then, if the weather is favorable, we will leave, on an ideal site for the observation of the sky. Experienced astronomists will accompany you in your astral observation.

It is, in fact, through the work of thirteen international contemporary artists that the question of modern myth is dealt with. Then, because it questions our search for meaning in a postmodern society through a cinematographic work belonging to the collective unconscious.
 
This approach to modern myth treated through contemporary artworks inspired by a current fiction has met a great success among the public with over 20'000 visitors since its opening.
 
With this in mind, and in order to allow as many people as possible to discover this exhibition, "I Am Your Father!" will be extended until October 28th.

Come participate in one of three creative workshops, developed in partnership with STRID, that will allow your children to make their own Halloween costume.
 
The "Do it yourself" workshops are aimed at children from the age of 7 and will take place at [font="helvetica, sans-serif;"]Espace Jules Verne[/font][/font] on Tuesday 16th, Thursday 18th and Friday 19th, from 10am to 12pm.
 
Participants will leave with a Halloween costume as scary as they are, and will be ready for this night of terror.

Is utopia a dream and dystopia, its opposite, a nightmare? How are these two visions intimately linked? To explore these issues, the House of Elsewhere presents a thorough exhibition in which visitors can discover the artworks of François Schuiten and Benoît Peeters, exhibited for the first time in a Swiss museum. The museum's exhibits will also create a dialogue between the work of François Schuiten and Benoît Peeters, the museum's heritage, the artworks of three Swiss artists - Sébastien Mettraux, Louis Loup Collet and Thomas Crausaz -, and the multimedia devices prepared by the HEIG-VD.
